I am the technical lead in genome informatics (that's a mouthful) for the High Performance Computing in Biology (HPCBio) group at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. We work with pretty much all non-model organisms, deal with a lot of cutting edge HPC infrastructure (on which we routinely get injured), and basically are starting a core from the embers of the previous core at the Carver Biotechnology Center.

Also, I'm an open-source programmer (BioPerl, board member of the Open Bioinformatics Foundation) and advocate of open science. It's all fun!
