I am the head of [http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/ bioinformatics] at the [http://www.babraham.ac.uk Babraham Institute], an academic research institute in Cambridge, UK.

I run a group of 5 bioinformaticians and statisticians providing a core service to approximately 300 researchers. We also make our service available [http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/services.html commercially].

As well as the the work we do for other groups we run a number of development programs ourselves, maintaining software packages such as [http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/projects/fastqc/ FastQC], [http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/projects/seqmonk/ SeqMonk], [http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/projects/bismark/ Bismark], [http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/projects/fastq_screen/ FastQ Screen] and [http://www.bioinformatics.bbsrc.ac.uk/projects/sierra/ Sierra].
